Other NoteBorn c. 1630-1631. B.A. (1649) and M.A. (1652) from Magdalene College, Cambridge. D.D. from Cambridge (1669). As explained in his ODNB article, it is often difficult to distinguish this John Meriton from contemporaries with the same name. This Meriton was probably lecturer at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Westminster from 1653 until his death in 1704. He was made minister of St Nicholas Acons in London during the protectorate in 1656, and again after the Restoration in 1661. He was rector of St Michael Cornhill, London from 1664 until his death and lecturer at St Mary-at-Hill from 1661 to 1701.
