Other NoteDate of birth unknown, but Blackall was baptized on 26 April 1655. B.A. (1675), M.A. (1678), fellow (1679-1687) at St Catharine's College, Cambridge. D.D. granted by Cambridge in 1700. Rector of South Ockendon, Essex, 1690-1694, and of St Mary Aldermary, London, 1694-1708. Bishop of Exeter from 1708 until his death in 1716. Apparently a nonjuror, Blackall is said not to have sworn allegiance to William and Mary for two years, even though he was their chaplain.
