Other NotePrecise dates of birth and death unknown; Cawdray was born in 1537 or 1538 and died in or after 1604. Cawdray was not educated at a university but was ordained as a deacon in 1565 and a priest in 1570. Rector of South Luffenham, Rutland beginning in 1571 until, as a committed Puritan, he was ejected in the early 1590s.
