Other NoteBaptised on 23 February 1610/11 at Bradfield, Berkshire, the son of Thomas and Beatrice Hawksworth. He matriculated to Magdalene College in 1628, graduated BA in 1631 and MA in 1635. He was ordained as a deacon in 1630. He was ordained as a priest in York in 1632 and a curate of Pontefract, and made curate of Hunslet in 1636, to be ejected in 1662. After is ejection he withdrew to Alverthorpe Hall, in the West Riding of Yorkshire. He married Elizabeth Walker of Warmsworth in 1638 and had two sons who reached majority, Israel Hawksworth (b.1652) and Thomas Hawksworth (b.1655). He died at Alverthorpe on the 23 November 1667, and was buried at Hunslet on the 25 November, where Gurney says he was curate from 1636-1662.
