Other NoteBorn ca. 1626. Graduated MA from Glasgow University in 1645 and became chaplain of the Drummond family in Riccarton. Called to Killellan, Renfrewshire and ordained 13 November 1649. On 11 June 1662 he was deprived of his living by an act of parliament. In 1672 he was given an indulgence by the Privy Council but swiftly had it removed fr not obeying its commands and for not reading the Rye House Plot proclamation. After the Scottish Declaration of Toleration in 1687, he returned to his living. He transferred to Eaglesham, Renfrewshire on 2 October 1688, but this was declared void by the Synod in April 1689. He was the restored at Killellan in 25 April 1690. He married Margaret Gilhagie who died 15 January 1710, and had a child, Christian who married Alexander Muir, minister of Rutherglen, Lanarkshire.
