Other NoteGeorge Lloyd was born in Denbighshire. His exact birth date is unknown. He was educated at Jesus College, Cambridge, graduating B.A. in 1582. Subsequently, he became a Fellow of Magdalene College, Cambridge, where he proceeded M.A. in 1586, B.D. in 1593, and D.D. in 1598. He held a divinity lectureship at Chester Cathedral from 1594. In 1597, he acquired the rectories of Llanrwst, Denbighshire and Heswall, Cheshire, holding the latter parish until 1613. Lloyd became Bishop of Sodor and Man in 1600. This was followed by his presentation to the bishopric of Chester on 18 December 1604. At the age of fifty-five, Lloyd died at Thornton-le-Moor. He was buried at Chester Cathedral.
