Other NoteMatriculated at University College, Oxford on 15 June 1657, where he gained his BA in 1661 and MA in 1665. He was a preacher at Kington with Huntington, Herefordshire and schoolmaster at Kington Grammar School in 1668. He was vicar of Bakewell, Derbyshire from 1668 and then of Gargrave, North Riding of Yorkshire from 1673 to his death. He was also lecturer at St John the Baptist, Halifax from 1672 to 1683. He gained a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Magdalene College, Cambridge in 1671 and married Mary Place, the daughter of Sir John Place of Godalming, Surrey on 11 December 1704 at York Minister.
