Other NoteThe Clark Library catalogue suggests that he was likely the son of William Pell of Sandal Magna, West Yorkshire and rector of Great Oakley, Essex. Possibly Daniel Pell, "Preacher of the Word," who wrote Wing P1069. He was admitted to St John's College, Cambridge at the age of 19 on 31 May 1651. He was ordained as a priest at Peterborough on 3 September 1661. He was rector of Little Oakley from 1661 to 1678. CCEd indicates that he was also a preacher at Great Oakley in 1662. He married Elizabeth Smart of Bradfield, Essex on 4 January 1664/5.
