Other NoteSon of Thomas Hog, the minister of Stobo. He graduated MA from Edinburgh on 26th July 1634. He was licensed by to preach on 13th October 1636 and ordained to West Linton on 5th February 1640, then moving to Canongate on 19th May 1646. He preached in the Tolbooth on 22nd June 1654, the first day of preaching in Leith for four years. In 1662 he was deprived of his living and was made minister of the Scottish Church, Rotterdam on 31 December 1662. He was forfeited in 1683 because he had been in communication with intercommuned ministers who had also fled to Holland, and he had his goods confiscated in 1684. He had three children, William, John, and a daughter. He died in April 1692.
