Other NoteWilkie was born in the Borders, probably at Bowden and graduated MA from Edinburgh on 14 July 1659. He was ordained to a post in London (unknown) and then admitted minister of Galashiels in 1665, then to North Leith in 1672 and to Tolbooth Kirk in 1687. He received an annual rent of 300 merks from lands in Lillesleaf. he was elected by the Town Council in 1691 but demoted in 1708. He married twice, first to Margaret Hepburn on 4 April 1665, with whom he had two sons John (1670-1704) and George (d.1716) and second to Margaret Alexander, on 7 June 1704. He died on the 7 January 1715.
