Other NoteHe graduated MA from Edinburgh in 1653 and was ordained minister of Alva on 25th September 1660. He was deprived of this living by the Privy Council in 1662, but was reinstated and became minister of Cockpen in 1691. He then moved to Inveresk/Musselburgh in 1694. He died in November 1700 at the age of 68. He married twice, first to Jean Brown (d. 18th August 1687) on 15th February 1672 with whom he had children: William, Jean, Rebecca and Magdalen. He then married Margaret Darleith on 8th September 1693.
