Other NoteGraduated from Harvard in 1749 and after the death of his father in 1765 he was elected second Hollis Professor of Divinity. He married three times, first to Margaret Hill (d. 1776), then to Dorothy Sparhawk, and third to his cousin Sarah Wigglesworth, daughter of Rev. Samuel Wigglesworth. He had issue: Margaret (b. 1766), Mary (1768-1784), Edward (1771-179), Thomas (1775-1855).
