Other NoteThe exact birth date of Richard Broughton is unknown. He was born in c. 1542, the son of Robert Broughton of Broughton, Shropshire. He was educated at Inner Temple. Broughton was a servant of Walter Devereux, First Earl of Essex. He served as M.P. for Stafford in 1572, and for Lichfield on several occasions in the 1580s. He died in 1604.
