Other NoteThe exact date of birth of Elijah Corlett is unknown. He matriculated at Lincoln College, Oxford on 16 March 1626, at the age of seventeen, graduating B.A. in 1634. Subsequently, Corlett was awarded the degree of M.A. from Pembroke College, Cambridge in 1638. He was ordained deacon at Norwich on 22 September 1633. He served as schoolmaster at Framlingham, Suffolk, and master of Halstead Grammar School, Essex, in the 1630s. After emigrating to America, Corlett became master of the school at Cambridge, MA. Elijah Corlett died on 25 February 1686. Nathaniel Gookin preached his funeral sermon.
