Other NoteBorn at St. Columb, Cornwall, John King graduated B.A. from Exeter College, Oxford in 1678; he proceeded M.A. in 1681 and was created D.D. at St. Catharine's College, Cambridge in 1698. King was made rector of Pertenhall, Beds. in 1690 and of Chelsea in 1694, and was appointed prebend of York in 1718; he may also have served as rector of West Wycombe from 1684 and 1695 and of Harrold, Beds. from 1697 to 1710. He died at Church Lane, Chelsea in 1732 and was buried in the chancel of Pertenhall church.
