Other NoteThe exact date of birth of George Davenport is unknown. Born at Wigston, Leicestershire, he was admitted pensioner at Emmanuel College, Cambridge on 1 May 1646. He graduated B.A. in 1649/50 and proceeded M.A. in 1653. From 1664 until his death on 6 July 1677, he served as rector of Houghton-le-Spring, County Durham.
