Other NoteThe exact date of birth of Jerome Beale is not known. Born in Worcestershire, he graduated B.A. from Christ's College, Cambridge in 1596 and proceeded M.A. (Pembroke College) in 1599. Beale was awarded the degree of B.D. in 1607. A protege of Lancelot Andrewes, in 1608, he became a prebendary of Chichester. A year later, he was instituted to the Sussex livings of Cowfold, West Wittering, and Nuthurst. Beale subsequently became rector of Hardwicke and Willingham in 1613 and 1615, respectively. From 1617, he served as a prebendary of Ely Cathedral. He ended his career as Master of Pembroke College, Cambridge, dying in 1631.
