Other NoteGoodwin matriculated from St. Catharine's College, Cambridge, in 1639 and received his B.A. in 1642/3. He was elected a fellow of St. John's College in 1644, receiving his M.A. from the college in 1646. From 1649-58 he was vicar of Weal, Essex, where he died September 4, 1658. His funeral sermon for the Honourable Lady Judith Barrington published the same year identifies him as "Tho. Goodwin, late fellow of S. Johns College in Cambridge. Now minister of the gospel at Southweal, in Essex" (Wing G1270B).
