DescriptionAt this time, Naylor was Fellow of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge. The sermon is virulently anti-Catholic and carries the distinction of being the only Gunpowder Plot sermon preached at Paul's Cross after Donne's sermon of 1622. For an analysis of this sermon, see Mary Morrissey, Politics and the Paul's Cross Sermons, 1558-1642 (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2011), pp. 153-154.

Other NoteThis is a fair copy of a sermon in mixed secretary and italic hand (probably not autograph). The pages have red ruled lines. There is some use of Latin and Greek, and no marginalia.
