DescriptionThe full title of the sermon is as follows: 'A funerall remembraun[ce] or testimony concerning the religious life and death of that truly vertuous and gracious gentlewoman: Mrs Jane Luther wife of Antonie Luther: Esquier Buryed at Kelvedon Jan: 11. 1641'. Above this title, the following words are written: 'Delivered by John Lavender M[aste]r of Arts of Queenes Colledge in Cambridge before the Sermon at her buryall'. In the 'funerall remembraun[ce] or testimony', Lavender pays tribute to his 'swe[e]test, and most christian freind' (see f. 1r). Her love of books is mentioned on f. 2v.
