DescriptionThis is the first of three sections in a manuscript exploring the state of a justified soul here in the flesh. The full title is "The First Estate of A Christian here in the flesh. OR The sad frame of a justified Soulde under sin, the dolefull exclamation that he makes under his boddy of death, together with the Groundes and Reasons for it." On this title page Isaiah 38:14 is quoted, but this is not the text explicated in the body of this work. These pages resemble an amplified version of what might have been preached, resembling a treatise rather than a sermon or series of sermons. The pages are written in a clear hand, although the paper is fraying and rather delicate. It is ruled on all four margins in red.
