Payne suggested Tenison had approved the sermon, which angered the archbishop. f. 29, Letter from William Payne to Tenison 26 December 1695 defending an earlier sermon preached at Westminster Abbey by Payne on the Trinity. f. 51, Letter from John Wallis to Tenison 22 May 1699 discussing current and former styles of preaching. f. 196, Letter from Tenison to Charles Townshend 5 October 1714 discussing preaching in London that suggests the Church is in danger and similar preaching in Oxford, by a "2nd Sacheverell". f. 200, Letter from Tenison to William III [June 1698] mentioning a sermon by John Macbridge [sic], "Sermon before the provincial synod of Antrim", which should be examined.
