Other NoteLucy Hastings (née Davies) was born on 20 January 1613 in Dublin, Ireland, and was the daughter of an attorney-general of Ireland, Sir John Davies (bap. 1569, d. 1626). She was a talented linguist, knowledgeable in Spanish, Latin, French, Greek, and Hebrew. She married Ferdinando, Lord Hastings (1609-1656) at Englefield parish church, Berkshire in 1623. Ferdinando and Lucy became Earl and Countess of Huntingdon on 14 November 1643. Lucy died thirty-six-years later and was buried at Ashby.
