The pages left blank by Bennet were in turn used as a commonplace book by Rev. John King, D.D. (1652-1732).

ProvenanceOriginal ownership determined by note 'Sum e libris Johannis Bennet ex aula Cervina, Sept. 29, 1672" on f.3. The subsequent owner, Rev. John King, D.D., was responsible for the additional material added to those pages left blank by Bennet. Later part of the collection of Thomas Birch.
AcquisitionBequeathed by Thomas Birch to the British Museum upon his death in 1766.
