Contents NoteThe full title of this autograph manuscript is as follows: 'The Thankfvll Leper or Samaritan. A Sermon preacht in the Chappell at Ashridge before the right Hon: the Countesse of Bridgwater, & that noble familie. By Robert Hitchcock Bachaler in Diuinity, and Preacher of Gods word at Wingraue in Buckingham shire.' There is a separate title page, in addition to a dedicatory epistle addressed 'To the Trvly Noble, virtuous, & Religious Lady the Countesse of Bridgwater', signed by the author. The manuscript has been dated by the present cataloguer according to Elizabeth Egerton's dates as Countess of Bridgewater.
